“The Fall”

The things that one would give for yesterday.
To mend the past, erasing all regret.
While looking back on mem’ries far away,
The images grow harder to forget.

If I had known the words she had to hear
To stave away it’s fearful silhouette,
I’d tell her that there is no need to fear
that all these thoughts are just an empty threat.

But I could not have known what would become
Of someone, as unbreakable, percieved.
Myself, so unaware of what’s to come
The tragedy that none would have believed.

And no one would have even known at all
That shortly afterward, she took the fall.
